Núria Andorrà

Núria Andorrà, percussionist and improviser.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in percussion from Esmuc and later studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe.
After working in different ensembles of contemporary music she began her career in the world of improvisation always with an interdisciplinary interest and search for own lenguage own. She has worked with Carles Santos, Héctor Parra, Matmos, BCN 216, among others.
This quest to find her musical language takes her to play with Fred Frith, Joëlle Léandre, Agustín Fernández, Lê Quan Ninh, Ingar Zach, Mats Gustafsson, Pablo Ledesman, Nate Wooley, France-Marie Uitti, Joe Morris, Dominik Straycharski, Christiane Bopp, Ramon Prats, Susana Santos, Tom Chant and with the dancers, Manel Salas, Julyen Hamilton, Paolo Cingolani,
Iris Heitzinger, Sónia Sánchez.
She is artistic director of the MontMusic Festival and program in Centre Cultural Can Balmes and l’Ex Designer Project Bar.
As a teacher, she teaches improvisation at ESMUC and gives different workshops throughout Europe.
She has also been a professor of classical and contemporary percussion at the Conservatory of the Delegation of Tarragona and the Conservatory of Liceo.
